WASHINGTON, D.C - The FDA has fingered serrano peppers for being the culprit of the recent salmonella scare that sickened over 1,000 people since April. To the FDA's horror, the seranno peppers enjoyed being fingered.

FDA spokesperon Ray Tanlupe described the situation to a crowd of surprised journalists, "The FDA has limited the source of the salmonella outreak to a specific scrop of serrano peppers grown in Mexico. Once the point of origin was determined, the FDA fingered the crop to teach it a lesson. To our surprise, the peppers actually enjoyed the abuse and asked to be handcuffed the next time we invaded them. We have never come across this type of behavior before and are looking into further punative measures to combat the pepper's apparent desire for degredation."

The serrano pepper is a type of chili pepper that originated in the mountainous regions of Mexico. The pepper has a scoble heat rating of 10,000-20,000 and is known for being one of the most sexually promicuous hot peppers in the world. The Seranno pepper grows in areas around the Mexican states of Puebla and Hidalgo, generally grow between 1 to 4 inches long, and enjoyes dirty sanchezes.
