Okay America let's get real for a minute, and not Real Time Bill Maher real, I mean really real. What is all the commotion about paying for vaginal pleasures? Am I missing something here? I thought America was all about personal freedom? We have the freedom to buy guns, get drunk and or drive, and the God given right to look at boobies at any time of the day.

Why then America can't a healthy American man buy a snatch sandwich after a hard day of work?

If anything we should be encouraging more American prostitution, it might be one of the last things we can corner the market in. What's that you say? Thai girls are 20 years ahead of our prostitutes Shit! See America, you're loosing out on yet another economic battle. 

All I'm saying is that we as Americans can do better. We can make better schools, kick more terrorist ass, and also provide the best top shelf cooter to paying customers. This is the land of the free, not the land of the free, except when it comes to paying for a woman to tie you up and spank your buttocks until you develop small but adorable blisters.

Get your act together America, this is one fight that is actually worth fighting.

I get it; these are Christians who want to be identified by their adherence to the words of Jesus, not Pat Robertson.  Or, they just want their women to be able to braid their hair.  My New Testament Professor would be turning over in his grave if he weren't still alive.  As resident genius, he knew that it was dangerous to highlight the words attributed to Jesus as if they were more meaningful than the rest of the Biblical text.  It's not that he believed the words weren't really those of Jesus, quite the opposite.  He believed that all of the Bible was God's Word equally and we lessen the whole of the text if we only celebrate part.

My less theological opposition to this label is because it makes me think of The Red Letter, "A," from Hawthorne's Scarlet Letter.  The "A" is a symbol of a Christian community's judgement against, and lack of acceptance towards those who stray from their cultural norms.  Of course, that is exactly what Christian's like Campolo, Wallis, and the Emergent Church are doing, so maybe the label fits--though not for their intended reasons.

Last week, Bush and others gathered to pray that wiretapping scandal would blow over and that nobody would uncover Bush's incompetence during "Katrina":http://www.guardian.co.uk/usa/story/0,,1707166,00.html. Bono made several jokes, including a reference to his own Messianic complex. He then strapped himself to a makeshift cross and kissed Karl Rove on the mouth. His funniest line of the morning came when he suggested that the United States devote an additional 1% of its budget to helping the world's poor, resulting in 8 minutes of uninterrupted laughter from the audience.
