What Would Jesus Eat

USA will soon eat itself

In case you didn't feel bad enough about Abu Ghraib, the economy or Dennis Kucinich dropping out of the presidential race taking with him his hot ass wife, now you also need to worry about your neighbor eating you.

In a CNN report on obesity in America, always smiling sellout Indian reporter Sanjay Gupta shows us just how fat the US is.  What is great about the map is how perfectly it matches up to the 2004 presidential election.

Religion+Sex: Never not funny

Submitted by kp on Fri, 2006-04-21 12:12.

SoMA whips it out once again with "For the Love of Agape," a fabulous look at what an evangelical sex shop might provide. My favorite excerpt:

New Agape-Approved Sex Books:

• “The Illustrated Song of Solomon.”
• “The Complete Story of Adam and Eve,” with glossy photographs; comes in fig-leaf or no-fig-leaf versions, depending on your inhibitions.
• “Love Stories From the Bible”: Includes: Abraham and Sarah and Pharaoh; Isaac and Rebecca and Leah; King Solomon and Seven Hundred Wives and Three Hundred Concubines (diagrams included).
• “Loving with Authority” (for men only) by Rev. Richard Land.
• “The Women’s Sex Guide: Complete Submission for Complete Satisfaction,” by James Dobson.
• “Celibacy is Not a Hands-On Job: Or Play with Yourself, Play with Fire,” by Cardinal Ratzinger.

BREAKING NEWS -- Chef quits South Park

Submitted by kp on Tue, 2006-03-14 19:01.

From our friends at "SoMA":http://www.somareview.com/

Isaac Hayes—the voice of Chef—has quit “South Park,” saying he can no longer take its satirical treatment of religion. “There is a place in this world for satire, but there is a time when satire ends and intolerance and bigotry towards religious beliefs and others begins,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Evidently for Isaac, that time is when the satire is directed towards your own religious beliefs. (in this case Scientology)

2 things here.
1: I'm sorry, but you're a SCIENTOLOGIST who can't take shit about your religion?? It's going to be a long, long, road for you my friend.

2: Isn't lampooning your own religion one of the best things about having a religion? I personally prefer making fun of Christianity during important holidays. Ash Wednesday is perfect for this. Chef may know how to make love to your woman, but he's clearly missing out on primo religious fun.

Dull the Pain

Ignore "this post":http://reallyimportantstuff.com/wojo/worst_news_ever/01/30/2006 and dull the pain of the "Vichy Dems":http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2006/01/30/MNG83GVPHN31.DTL and the sad State of the Union by popping into your "local drinking lberally pub":http://drinkingliberally.org/locations.html. Lucky for me, mine meets today near my place, but not all do so check the schedule. Check the forums because many that don't normally meet on Tuesdays may be meeting in anticipation of "this":http://youtube.com/w/George-Bush-State-of-the-Union?v=2L_jt2O7gAE&search=state%20of%20the%20union. Holy Crap: Scatalogical theology.

Even Jesus, according to "Ship of Fools":http://shipoffools.com/Features/2005/kitsch_xmas.html

Leave it to a British blog to talk about the theology of pooping. But in the end it comes out as a really helpful look at denial and what we want to see versus what actually is.
