Crappy awards shows just got worse

Submitted by wojo on Tue, 2007-12-18 17:53.

This is a nice, but if we were all really serious about supporting the WGA strike wouldn't we just boycott TV? I'm sure that would cut into their existing royalties, but a TV boycott is the one way to force the AMPTP's hand. I could start by watching less Hulu, but until I'm asked, I'm taking the George W. approach: "Keep shopping!"

Waivers Denied for Awards Shows

The Writers Guild says it has notified the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and dick clark productions that it will not allow its members to write for 65th Annual Golden Globe Awards. The guild also denied a request from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for a waiver in connection with the use of clips from motion pictures and past Academy Awards shows during the annual Oscars ceremony.

Free TV for the TV-less

Don't say I never gave you nothing, because that would be bad grammar. Now that TV Links is gone you'll need something to fill the void. Maybe a book, or jogging, like people in the 80's, but probably not. Probably hours of TV on your computer while you think about doing laundry. Maybe even catch up on your Eps of Air Wolf, like people in the 80s! No shame in that my friend. No shame in that.

Hmm, can I really embed a whole clip from NBC and Fox's "YouTube Killer" Hulu.com in a blog post?

Yes! Now, pay the frickin' writers.
